What is constipation?
Constipation is a common and uncomfortable complaint. It usually involves difficult or irregular bowel movements, accompanied by hard, dry motions which can be painful to pass.
Stimulant laxatives should only be used if other laxatives (bulk-forming and osmotic) are ineffective. Children younger than 12 years should not use stimulant laxatives without advice from a prescriber and clinical guidance should be followed.

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. If any of the following or other side effects occur, stop taking this medicine and consult a doctor or pharmacist:
- abdominal pain, spasms and diarrhoea, in particular these effects may be experienced by patients with irritable colon. In these cases, a reduction in dose may be neccessary. - hypersensitivity (allergic) reactions, hives (skin bumps), skin itchiness or local or more widespread, rash or asthma. - can make you more likely to catch infections. - chronic use may lead to albuminuria and haematuria which is albumin or red blood cells in the urine. - yellow or red-brown discoloration of urine may occur, which is harmless. - chronic use may cause pigmentation of the gastroinestinal tract which usually recedes when the product is no longer taken. - low potassium levels in the blood leading to muscle weakness and/or cramps - severe weight loss - changes in the shape of the finger and fingernail, muscular spasms and inflammatation of bones and joints.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:Adults, the elderly 18 years and over: 1 tablet taken at night. Should not be used in children or adolescents under the age of 18 years
Duration of use
Not to be used for more than 1 week. Usually it is sufficient to take this medicinal product up to two to three times during that week. If the symptoms persist during the use of the medicinal product, a doctor or a pharmacist should be consulted. .
Each tablet contains standardised Senna equivalent to 15mg total Sennosides in a base containing Calcium Phosphate, Maize Starch, Lactose and Magnesium Stearate
