Pepto-Bismal really is my panacea for all stomach ailments. Im sensitive to most grains, but occasionally when eating out I just want to have that pasta dish or wonderful bread straight from the oven and suffer the consequences - stomach ache and bloating like a balloon for the next so and so many hours. Luckily I have my Pepto bottle I can chugg and hey presto, problem solved. Its the only thing thats worked for me in that regards (other than not eating the food of course). Its worked for diarrhea too. I keep it as a fail safe rescue remedy though, as I dont think its ever sensible to continuously take medicines.
My doctor suggested Pepto-Bismol. Unfortunately it is not sold in continental Europe, only in North America and a few other ocuntries (e.g. UK). Definitely worth to try.
