Odaban for body odour

Where does body odour come from?

Sweating is a natural way for the body to control its temperature. As sweat evaporates from the skin it cools down the blood and regulates it with the temperature of the other organs. Every human has up to two million sweat glands, most of which are located in the armpits, around the head, palms, and feet. Almost half a litre of sweat is produced from these glands each day. When temperatures are higher the sweat glands can produce almost six litres a day.

Body odour for humans is caused mostly by skin glands excretions and bacterial activity. Though there are many different types of skin glands, the odour that comes from our body is mostly the result of the sweat glands. Sweat glands give off the majority of chemical compounds that are needed for sin flora to metabolise into odourant substances. This takes place mostly in the armpit region but also in the areola, genital region, and around the naval. Hairs on the armpit area and genital area help to diffuse body odours.

Other factors too can influence body odour. Certain foods and drink, and even diseases, can affect a person’s body odour. Lifestyle, sex, genetics, and medication also influence body odour.
