Like PanOxyl, Acnecide 5% Gel destroys spot-causing bacteria through the active ingredient, benzoyl peroxide. Now that PanOxyl has been discontinued, there are no other 10% benzoyl peroxide gels available without prescription.
Despite being milder than PanOxyl, Acnecide is still highly effective against spots. The 5% formula is strong enough for most people and is less likely to irritate the skin.
For spots on your face, try Acnecide Gel 5%
Spots on your body? Try Acnecide Wash 5%
Ive been using this product for about 3 weeks now and it has helped a little bit. I have spots/acne scars that have faded a little but not massively. Its not a miracle worker but it does say allow 6-8 weeks to work so hopefully ill see further improvement soon. It is VERY drying so you need to use a moisturiser but be careful with what one you get because even some oil free ones can give you more spots. It is pretty good on individual spots although it says not to use on on them. Overall Ive been just about satisfied with this product, with the other reviews on it i was excited that I would have a clear face by now but that isnt the case. Dont expect this to be a miracle worker and the people that say it works wonders in a week must have pretty mild spots, hopefully it will get better by the 6-8 weeks and Ill have a clear face
Excellent product at a small price. Having struggled with adult acne over the past few years and the same struggle discovering a product that actually works, I cant recommend Panoxyl highly enough. It is absolutely fabulous, stops outbreaks in its tracks, thankfully. Yes it is a little drying but an oil free moisturiser controls that for me. All in all I wouldnt be without Panoxyl and would recommend it to anyone who has seriously oily skin as I do.
