Like PanOxyl, Acnecide 5% Gel destroys spot-causing bacteria through the active ingredient, benzoyl peroxide. Now that PanOxyl has been discontinued, there are no other 10% benzoyl peroxide gels available without prescription.
Despite being milder than PanOxyl, Acnecide is still highly effective against spots. The 5% formula is strong enough for most people and is less likely to irritate the skin.

Help for troubled skin
This gel has been the mainstay of my fight back against adult acne. It is a wonder gel!
This stuff is great....10 out of 10. Buy it, it works..
One of the only things to ever work for my skin. Great product, especially for the price. Completely zaps spots away. My only complaint is about how drying it is it left some areas of my skin feeling a tad raw for a few days, (keep it far away from the eye area) but I do have very sensitive skin. For others, it might not be as bad, but I still recommend that you moisturise very well and definitely use a product with SPF in it as the sun can be very damaging to the skin when its in that sensitive state. Within a week or two, you can feel that your skin gets used to the product. If your spots arent as bad/not acne, or if you have delicate skin, then Id urge you to consider buying 5 or 2 instead of 10.
Ive been using this product for about 3 weeks now and it has helped a little bit. I have spots/acne scars that have faded a little but not massively. Its not a miracle worker but it does say allow 6-8 weeks to work so hopefully ill see further improvement soon. It is VERY drying so you need to use a moisturiser but be careful with what one you get because even some oil free ones can give you more spots. It is pretty good on individual spots although it says not to use on on them. Overall Ive been just about satisfied with this product, with the other reviews on it i was excited that I would have a clear face by now but that isnt the case. Dont expect this to be a miracle worker and the people that say it works wonders in a week must have pretty mild spots, hopefully it will get better by the 6-8 weeks and Ill have a clear face
