I first got this in the USA and have used it for over 10 years. The stuff is fabulous, easy to use and last 6 weeks. I apply a little moisturizer to my face before applying the colour which helps assure none sticks to my face. If anything, the product works faster than 5 minutes. I apply in the shower stall so that if any spills it isnt on the carpet. Then I just rinse it out. I use it on ALL my grey hair. The best time is to come home from the barber and apply it because it gets down to the roots easily, and people notice the haircut rather than the colour. The only time anyone noticed was one of my sons when I couldnt find the Sandy Blond and used Brown which was too dark. Since Im lucky enough to be in shape and have a young looking face, why not do everything to look young. The women have been using smoke and mirrors for years - why not us:))!
I am now in my seventies and I assume I would have grey hair if it were not treated but I havent seen it in its natural state for about twenty years. I began using Just for Men when my brothers hair turned grey and I decided to avoid the same fate. My natural colour was a sort of mousey brown. I decided to try the light brown version of the product but it was immediately obvious to colleagues that my hair had changed colour. It was darker and a bit ginger. I then tried sandy blond and the result was very close to my natural shade. I have continued to use the sandy blond shade through all those years and no one has asked me why such an elderly guy has no grey hair. Many of the chaps I play golf with would have no hesitation in making comments if they suspected! The advice I would give to any new user is to leave the substance on your hair for the full five minutes recommended in the instructions and then, if it doesnt cover all the grey adequately leave it on for ten minutes the second time you use it. My experience is that the overall effect will then not be blond but a light brown. Finally, I would suggest that unless you have a very lush head of hair you will need only half the quantity provided. I put half of the clear liquid into a test tube (any small container would suffice) and add only half of the dye to what is left in the dispenser. When I have finished the application and the dispenser has been washed out and dried I put the contents of the test tube back in. It is quite easy to find around the house a screw cap that will fit the dispenser and prevent it evaporating before it is time for the next application. The advertising material says the product will last for six weeks before fading. If your hair is shampooed most days as mine is, even if colour-protect conditioner is used, then I would suggest you should apply the dye after three or four weeks. I hope this will be helpful.
