Imigran is used to treat migraines.
A migraine is a severe form of headache which usually feels like a throbbing pain at the sides or front of the head. Other symptoms can include nausea and experiencing a sensitivity to light or sound. Migraines are common and affect around 1 in 5 women but only around 1 in 15 men. They typically start in early adulthood.
Migraines are believed to occur when the blood vessels in the brain temporarily widen. With Imigran you can reduce the widening of the blood vessels to help alleviate the common symptoms of migraines, such as headaches, sensitivity to light and nausea.
There is no known cure for a migraine but there are a number of treatments available to help manage the symptoms effectively. Treatments include pain killers, triptans and anti-emetics.
