Do not take Gaviscon Double Action if you: Are allergic to any of the ingredients listed above, have severe kidney problems, suffer from hypophosphatemia (low phosphate levels), or have reduced gastric acid levels in your stomach.
Please see your doctor before you take Gaviscon if you: Have significant kidney or heart disease, are on a low-sodium diet, have high calcium levels or kidney stones, or need to use this medicine daily for a prolonged period. This product contains sodium and calcium, which may interfere with certain health conditions.
Taking the medicine with food and drink: Do not take this product within two hours of other oral medications, as it may interfere with their absorption. This includes antibiotics, iron supplements, antifungals, heart medications, and thyroid treatments.
Pregnancy and breast feeding: This medicine can be taken during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but treatment duration should be limited as much as possible. Always consult your doctor before use.
Driving and using machines: Gaviscon Double Action does not affect your ability to drive or operate machinery.
If you take more Gaviscon than you should: You may feel bloated. It is unlikely to cause harm, but consult your doctor or pharmacist if symptoms persist. Do not drink directly from the bottle and always follow the recommended dosage.
Active ingredient Each 10ml dose contains Sodium Alginate 500mg, Sodium Bicarbonate 213mg, and Calcium Carbonate 325mg.
Other ingredients Carbomer, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), sodium saccharin, sodium hydroxide, propylene glycol (in flavouring), and purified water. This product is sugar-free and gluten-free.
