Dosage and How to Take This Medicine

Check that the cap seal is unbroken before first use.
Shake well before use.
Adults, including the elderly, and children 12 years and over: Take 5-10 ml (one to two 5 ml spoonfuls) after meals and at bedtime.
Children under 12 years: Use on

Do not take Gaviscon Double Action Aniseed if you:

Are allergic to any of the ingredients, as very rarely this can cause difficulty breathing, skin rash, or other allergic reactions.

Take special care before using this product if you:

Need prolonged daily use, especially on a low-sodium diet.
Have persistent heartburn or indigestion, as this medicine may mask symptoms of more serious conditions.

Important ingredient information:

Contains sodium (127.88 mg per 10 ml; maximum daily dose 1023.04 mg).
Contains benzyl alcohol (1.05 mg per 10 ml), methyl (E218) and propyl (E216) parahydroxybenzoates � may cause allergic reactions.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding:

Can be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Consult your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease due to potential accumulation of benzyl alcohol.

Taking other medicines:

Do not take within 2 hours of other oral medicines, as it may reduce their effectiveness.
Particularly important for antibiotics (tetracyclines, quinolones), iron supplements, thyroid hormones, digoxin, bisphosphonates, chloroquine, estramustine, antihistamines, neuroleptics, and certain antifungals.

Possible side effects:

Very rarely (<1 in 10,000) may cause allergic reactions: skin rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, or breathing difficulties.
Other possible effects: constipation, irritability, muscle cramps, indigestion recurrence, or high calcium levels in the blood.

Usage / Instructions

Keep out of the sight and reach of children. Do not use this product after the expiry date (EXP: month/year shown). Handle the glass bottle with care and do not drink directly from the bottle. Read the package leaflet before use.

Dosage and How to Take This Medicine

Check that the cap seal is unbroken before first use.
Shake well before use.
Adults, including the elderly, and children 12 years and over: Take 5-10 ml (one to two 5 ml spoonfuls) after meals and at bedtime.
Children under 12 years: Use only on medical advice.
If you forget a dose, do not double the next dose; continue as usual.
Taking too much may cause bloating or mild abdominal discomfort. This is unlikely to cause serious harm, but consult your doctor or pharmacist if it persists.
If symptoms continue after 7 days, seek medical advice.

Ingredients

Active ingredients

Each 10 ml of oral suspension contains 1000 mg sodium alginate and 200 mg potassium hydrogen carbonate.

Other ingredients

Calcium carbonate, carbomer, methyl (E218) and propyl (E216) parahydroxybenzoates, sodium saccharin, sodium hydroxide, peppermint flavour, and purified water. This product does not contain sugar or gluten.
