Cetraben Emollient Cream PumpDispenser works by providing a layer of oil on the surface of the skin to prevent water evaporating from the skin surface.

Moisturisers are helpful for all dry skin conditions, particularly eczema and dermatitis, which get worse when the skin is allowed to dry out. Used regularly they help restore the skin's smoothness, softness and flexibility by helping the skin retain moisture. They should be applied frequently to prevent the skin drying out.

In conditions such as eczema, using a moisturiser regularly, even once the skin has improved, can help prevent flare-ups of this condition.

Cetraben Cream also contains glycerin, which is absorbed into the skin where it attracts water to itself, helping to retain water in the skin surface.

Emollients

Emollients are non-cosmetic moisturisers which come in the form of creams, ointments, lotions and gels. Emollients help skin to feel more comfortable and less itchy. They keep the skin moist and flexible, helping to prevent cracks.

Creams contain a mixture of fat and water and feel light and cool to the skin. For this reason many people with eczema prefer creams for day time use. All creams contain preservatives and people can become sensitive to them, although this is not common.

Used every day, emollients may be all you need to keep mild to moderate eczema under control.

How are emollients applied and when?

Apply emollients after bathing, while water is still trapped in the skin for extra hydration.
Use liberally and frequently at least three times a day.
Apply gently in the direction of the hair growth. Never rub up and down vigorously as this could trigger itching, block hair follicles or create more heat in the skin
Continue to use the emollient, even when the eczema has improved as this will help prevent flare ups.

I have used this hand creme for a long time. It is effective. Unlike a lot of hand creme it doesn`t make you need more and more, it just does it`s job!.

Have suffered from various areas of scratchy skin for many years, usually flaring up a few times a year. I have tried many products including those only available on prescription.I`ve recently had a problem with dry, scaly eyelids and was unable to use my normal products on such a sensitive area as face or eyelids. In researching the internet I came across other people with a similar problem who were extolling the vritues of ` Cetraben`. I bought some to try, and couldn`t believe how reasonable the cost was, I was even more surprised at the almost immediate affect on curing my dry/scaly eyelids, "BRILLIANT" what a find. I now use it regularly on my dry bald head and other problem areas.Cetraben Emollient Cream Pump Dispenser REALLY WORKS. I am so pleased to have found CETRABEN and wish I had discovered it years ago. So easy to apply and is none greasy, you wouldn`t know it`s on..

I have had to deal with symptoms of eczema for the past 30 years. It wasn`t until I found Cetraben, a couple of years ago, that I started feeling I could function with a degree of normality. I use it every day and it has helped with the dryness and itchiness significantly. In terms of effectiveness, there might be other emollients out there that work similarly, but they all have a very intense "medicine-like" smell. Cetraben has none of that. It`s smell is neutral, almost imperceptible, and I don`t have to worry about smelling like I`ve just got out of hospital, if you know what I mean...I honestly recommend it for anyone out there, whose main problem, like mine, is extremely dry , itchy and flaky skin..
