All Garnier Ambre Solaire products are the result of rigorous research and development and benefit from the expertise of 3,000 multi-disciplinary scientists & research staff. Ganier’s discoveries are frequently published in leading scientific journals and have resulted in some 529 patents in 2005.
Everyday, Garnier discover more and more ingredients from natural origin. To select the best from nature and identify its activity on the skin, Garnier has adopted Bioscreening, a molecule screening method used in the pharmaceutical industry.
Garnier Ambre Solaire has got it covered with photostable UV sun protection to answer your and your family’s suncare needs.
When skin is exposed to the sun, a natural self defence mechanism is triggered to protect against ultra-violet light. Pigment is produced to absorb the UV rays: we know this process as 'tanning'. Unfortunately, this pigment does not always provide an effective barrier to harmful UV rays.
Garnier Ambre Solaire; suncare experts for over 70 years, have developed a patented, high technology filtration system, Mexoryl XL & SX, which provides reinforced protection against both UVA and UVB rays. UVB rays work principally on the skin's surface and are responsible for burning. However, 95% of UV rays are UVA rays, which are believed to be the principal cause for premature ageing as they penetrate deeper into the skin than the UVB rays. UVA rays are present all year round in all parts of the world, therefore it is important that we protect our skin no matter what the weather. Garnier Ambre Solaire sun protection products are photostable. The patented photostable filters in Garnier Ambre Solaire don't break down in the sun. So the protection you're promised is the protection you get. Meaning you and your family can enjoy time in the sun, knowing that you're protected with Garnier Ambre Solaire.
What is SPF?
An SPF number tells you how effective a product is at protecting against UVB rays. The higher the number, the better the protection. Factor 10 for example indicates that it will take 10 times longer for someone to burn compared to them not wearing any sun tan lotion. Each person’s skin however is different, and some people burn more easily than others.
Garnier Ambre Solaire recommends using nothing less than SPF30 for children.
