Zinc and Castor Oil Ointment 500g is used for symptomatic relief of nappy rash, and as a protective water-resistant cream for dry, chapped skin. The ointment contains zinc oxide, a mild antiseptic and astringent for the skin, and castor oil which helps soften dry, hard and chapped skin.
Protect delicate skin with Zinc and Castor Oil Ointment. This ointment helps the skin to retain moisture and also soothes it. It is ideal for delicate baby skin which is prone to nappy rash and irritation. Zinc helps to form a coating over the skin which helps to clear irritation. Castor oil works to kill bacteria on the skin that can cause redness and irritation. This ointment is suitable for babies, including newborns. Zinc and Castor Oil Ointment can also be used for moisturising and soothing the skin.
Zinc and Castor Oil Ointment BP contains Arachis Oil (peanut oil) and should not be applied by patients known to be allergic to peanut. As there is a possible relationship between allergy to peanut and allergy to Soya, patients with soya allergy should also avoid Zinc and Castor Oil Ointment BP.
Apply ointment to the skin. Apply to the affected skin up to four times a day or at each nappy change. If seperation of the ointment occurs, re-mix before use.
