Salamol Easi-Breathe CFC Free Inhaler 100mcg contains the active ingredient salbutamol. Salbutamol when used as an inhaler is known as a reliever. This is because it works very quickly to relieve asthma attacks, wheezing, chest tightness or shortness of breath. Salbutamol inhalers can also be used to open the airways shortly before exercising to prevent wheezing.

Salamol Easi-Breathe CFC Free Inhaler 100mcg is for the symptomatic treatment of asthma and other conditions with associated reversible airways obstruction. For relief of wheezing and shortness of breath, Salamol Easi-Breathe CFC Free Inhaler should be used on an as required basis.

It also helps in the prevention of asthma attacks induced by exercise or exposure to allergens.

Salamol Easi-Breathe CFC-Free Inhaler can be used as relief medication to manage mild, moderate and severe asthma, provided its use does not delay the introduction and regular use of inhaled corticosteroid therapy, where necessary.

Salamol Easi-Breathe CFC Free Inhaler 100mcg: For optimum results in most patients Salamol Easi-Breathe CFC-Free Inhaler should be used as required.

Adults (including the Elderly):

For the relief of acute asthma symptoms including bronchospasm, one inhalation (100 micrograms) may be administered as a single minimum starting dose. This may be increased to two inhalations (200 micrograms) if necessary.

Salamol Easi-Breathe CFC-Free Inhaler should not exceed 8 inhalations in any 24 hours. Reliance on such frequent supplementary use, or a sudden increase in dose indicates poorly controlled or deteriorating asthma.

Children:

For the relief of acute asthma symptoms including bronchospasm, or before allergen exposure or exercise, one inhalation (100 micrograms), should be administered as a single minimum starting dose. This may be increased to two inhalations (200 micrograms) if necessary.

Use should not exceed four times daily.

Method of Administration:

  • Patients should sit upright or stand during inhalation.
  • It is also important during inhalation that the inhaler be held in an upright position as the inhaler works only correctly in a vertical position
  • The aerosol spray is inhaled through the mouth into the lungs. Test spray the inhaler by firing two shots into the air before first use, and if the inhaler has not been used for a period of five days or longer.
  • Remove the cap from the inhaler mouthpiece and shake the inhaler. Place the mouthpiece in the mouth with the lips closed around it. Breathe in slowly and deeply through the mouthpiece. Don't stop breathing when the inhaler puffs the dose into your mouth. Carry on until you have taken a deep breath.

Salamol Easi-Breathe CFC Free Inhaler 100mcg should be administered cautiously if patients have:

  • thyrotoxicosis
  • coronary insufficiency
  • hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy
  • arterial hypertension
  • cardiac glycosides
  • diabetes mellitus

Patients should be instructed in the proper use of the inhaler and their technique checked, to ensure that the active substance reaches the target areas within the lungs.
