Beclometasone Nasal Spray side effects

Medicines and their possible side effects can affect individual people in different ways. The following are some of the side effects that are known to be associated with Beclometasone Nasal Spray. Just because a side effect is stated here does not mean that all people using this medicine will experience that or any side effect.


Side effects similar to those associated with corticosteroids taken by mouth may occur if this medicine is absorbed into the bloodstream. The risk of this when using a steroid nasal spray is very low, but may be more likely if the medicine is used at high doses for prolonged periods of time.


Common (affecting between 1 in 10 and 1 in 100 people):

nosebleeds, dryness and irritation of the nose and throat, unpleasant taste or smell, mild allergic reactions like skin rash, redness, itching or hives.


Very rare (affecting fewer than 1 in 10,000 people):

perforation of the nasal septum, raised pressure in the eye or glaucoma, cataract, allergic reactions like narrowing of the airways, swelling of the lips, throat and tongue or anaphylactic shock.
