IntraSite Gel Applipak is clinically proven to debride, deslough and hydrate a wide range of wound types. It rehydrates the skin tissue and its gentle yet quick action promotes fast debridement. IntraSite Gel increases the moisture content at the surface of the wound, and by keeping the fragile tissue moist, the healing process is progressed. This delicate tissue is left undisturbed, thanks to IntraSite’s gentle action, therefore reducing trauma. Not only that, but IntraSite Gel also absorbs moisture in wetter environments, creating an optimum healing environment.
IntraSite Gel is non-adherent, so is easily removed from the wound with a normal sterile saline solution, without damaging any fragile tissue or causing any unnecessary pain.
Directions for using IntraSite Gel:
Step 1: Prepare wound site and remove secondary dressing.
Step 2: Prepare pack by removing the blue protective cap from the nozzle and then snap the patterned tip off the nozzle.
Step 3: Introduce IntraSite Gel into the wound, keeping the nozzle tip clear of the wound surface and gently press the bowl of the pack to dispense gel into the wound. Smooth IntraSite Gel over surface of wound to a depth of approximately 5mm (0.2in.) Discard any unused gel.
Step 4: Dress the wound and cover with a secondary dressing of choice (use a dressing such as Allevyn or Melolin Low-Adherent Absorbent Dressing).
Step 5: Remove the IntraSite Gel, which can be removed from the wound by rinsing with sterile saline solution. On necrotic and sloughy wounds, it is recommended that the dressing is changed at least every three days. On clean granulating wounds, the frequency of dressing changes depends on the clinical condition of the wound and the amount of exudate produced.
