Finding the right sun care for your family can be difficult, especially if you’re also dealing with allergies, sensitive skin, acne or other summer skin troubles. We’ve rounded up the best sun care that does double duty working to combat those troubles.
If you’re out all day with little chance to reapply:
If you work outdoors, or find yourself outdoors most of the day without much opportunity to reapply sun cream, we recommend Riemann P20. With creams and sprays in SPFs ranging from 20 to 50+, P20 can be applied in the morning before you head out, and provides up to 10 hours of sun protection.
If your skin is very sensitive:
Sun cream can upset sensitive, intolerant skin, but Avene’s range of sun care is gentle enough for even the most temperamental skin. All the sun care products are SPF 50, keeping you well protected without irritation. We love the Mineral Compacts in Beige and Honey, ideal for topping up your sun care over your make-up throughout the day.
If your skin is acne prone:
Oily, greasy sun creams are the nemesis of acne prone skin, and you can be left with skin that feels clogged. Try using a sun cream intended just for the face, as they tend to be lighter. Eucerin’s Sun Spray Transparent in SPF50, and Sun Face Fluid (SPF30 or SPF50) are both formulated to be suitable for acne and blemish prone skin.
You could also try Photoderm AKN Mat Mattifying Fluid from Bioderma, which prevents pores from getting clogged and regulates sebum quality.
If you’re allergic to some chemicals and fragrances:
Allergies to fragrance and chemicals can make finding the right suncare very difficult. Bioderma Photoderm Mineral Spray is tailored to skin allergic to chemical filters, and dodge the sunburn without upsetting your skin.
If you have hyperpigmentation:
Bioderma’s Photoderm Spot contains a blend of ingredients which protects scars to limit further hyperpigmentation. As an added bonus, it’s also fragrance and paraben free to really minimise any possible irritation.
Now get out there and enjoy the sun!
