Bactroban Ointment 15g can be used as a topical treatment for a variety of primary bacterial skin infections like impetigo, folliculitis, furunculosis and ecthyma and can also be used to treat secondary infections that occur in damaged skin such as infections due to eczema, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, herpes (cold sores), genetic skin disorders that cause dry, fragile skin. Not only that but it can also be used for the treatment of infected traumatic lesions, wounds, ulcers, minor burns, cuts, grazes and insect bites in order to prevent the development of infection and aid wound healing.

It contains the active antibacterial ingredient mupirocin, which works by affecting the bacteria’s production of certain proteins that are necessary for their survival. Instead, it causes the bacteria to produce abnormal and faulty proteins, which results in the elimination of the bacteria and clearing of the bacteria.
