Description

Product Code: 0002780

Daktarin Aktiv Cream - You should treat athlete's foot as soon as you notice the first signs of infection. The skin often becomes inflamed and itchy with areas of ‘dead skin', moistness or blistering and cracking or peeling. It is important to treat the infected area quickly and thoroughly. Daktarin Aktiv Cream is suitable for athlete's foot which is often accompanied by sore, cracked skin. It has an Aktiv, anti-fungal/anti-bacterial agent that fights the infection.

There are three main types of fungi that can cause athlete's foot and it is unlikely that you will know which one is responsible in your case. Therefore, you need a treatment that is effective against all three types of fungi. Miconazole nitrate, the active ingredient found in Daktarin Aktiv Cream has been clinically proven to be effective against all three of these fungi.

Daktarin Aktiv Cream contains an effective anti-fungal agent which also has a secondary anti-bacterial activity. Not only does it treat the cause of athlete's foot, it also has an effect on secondary bacterial infections. This prevents the fungi that cause athlete's foot from spreading which results in these fungi eventually dying off.

Symptoms are more likely to re-occur if you do not follow the instructions on the pack. In many cases the fungi that cause the condition may still be present even though you can not see any sign of the infection remaining. Therefore, it is important not to discontinue treatment as soon as the symptoms have disappeared.

As it looks and feels unpleasant, athlete's foot is quite hard to ignore. However, if it isn't treated, the skin can crack leaving it open to bacterial infections. Bacteria can then grow and spread over the feet, which can lead to an unpleasant smell adding to your discomfort. As most people with smelly feet prefer to keep their shoes on, athlete's foot just gets worse because the fungi that cause athlete's foot thrive in warm, moist conditions. Using Dakatarin Aktiv can help endure you stay Athletes Foot free! That’s why Daktarin is Britain’s best selling anti-fungal range.

Messy to use and not as effective as Lamasil... although I'm still mid-treatment as nothing has cleared it up yet - 4 weeks in..

My four year old son has developed Athlete's Foot probably from days in the paddling pool and not drying his feet properly. I noticed white peeling skin all over the front and back of his toes and had it confirmed by the local pharmacist. He recommended a tube of Daktarin dual action cream which cost £4.99 for 30g.Firstly incase any of you don't know what Athlete's foot is - a brief description:It is a fungal infection in between your toes that causes itching and broken skin and can be quite uncomfortable. The flash name is tinea pedis. You can catch it in swimming baths from the floor. If it occurs you need to treat it with an anti-fungal preparation as soon as possible as it is contagious. My son has his own towel and flannel to save us getting it. It probably won't go away on its own - so go and see your pharmacist.Points when trying to avoid it:Always dry your feet well and use a medicated talc if you are prone to it.Try and avoid plastic shoes, trainers and nylon socks (sounds sexy) as these encourage sweaty feet.Wash and dry your feet at least once a day and try to go barefoot every now and then. The cream:It comes in an easy to squeeze tube and contains miconazole nitrate 2%. Before applying it you should wash and dry the affected area thoroughly using a dedicated towel. You need to apply it twice a day and continue using the cream for a few days after the symptoms have disappeared. It has worked for my son - he is just continuing the dose for a couple more days. I also got him the Daktarin powder to shake into his socks - he thinks this is great fun. (Well he would being 4). Therefore I would recommend this product..
