Castor Oil BP is expeller-pressed from seed of Ricinus communis, and is virtually tasteless and odorless. While it has become synonymous with many other areas of wellness, castor oil is considered by many to be one of the finest natural skin emollients available today. Castor Oil is 100% pure and suitable for internal and external use.

The British Pharmacopoeia (BP) is the official collection of standards for UK medicinal products and pharmaceutical substances. Produced by the British Pharmacopoeia Commission Secretariat, part of the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, the BP makes an important contribution to public health by setting publicly available standards for the quality of medicines.

Castor oil has many listed uses and many generations have sworn by the medical uses of Castor oil not only as a skin emoillent but as a pain releiver, laxative, labour inducer, lip balm and many more.
Castor oil is unique in that it has a very low molecular weight which allows it to penetrate deep into the skin where it moisturises from the inner layers out and conditions skin.
The main component of Castor oil is Ricinoleic acid which renowed for its analgesic and aniti-inflammatory properties hence its use as a topical painkiller.
If Castor oil is ingested it causes mild contractions in the lower intestine which helps relieve constipation, the contractions can also spread to the uterus hence its use as a labour inducer (this use must be followed under medical supervision.

I always have some castor oil in the cuboard for softening dry skin, constipation or to take as a general suppliment. Tastes awful but works a treat.

I used this when was over due with son about 3 spoonfuls mixed with orange juice its wasn't that nice, but it brought on my labour....But you should check with your midwife b4 doing
